This file defines the six canonical scenes of Book 4 — Little Time.
Each scene includes:

  • Purpose
  • Narrative Summary
  • Emotional Tone
  • Visual Identity Notes
  • Animation Micro‑Beats

This is the structural blueprint for all supporting files.

Scene 1 — Arrival at the Clock Garden#

Purpose#

Introduce Little Time, establish the domain of Time, and present the Clock Garden as the central environment.

Narrative Summary#

Little Time enters the Clock Garden, where flowers open and close at different rhythms and shadows move at varying speeds. The Master waits beside a slow‑moving sundial.

Emotional Tone#

Curiosity, slight overwhelm, fascination with differing rhythms.

Visual Identity Notes#

  • Flowers opening/closing at varied tempos
  • Shadows stretching at different rates
  • Soft temporal shimmer in the air

Animation Micro‑Beats#

  • Petals opening slowly
  • Shadows shifting at mismatched speeds
  • Master standing calmly in temporal stillness

Scene 2 — The First Stretch#

Purpose#

Challenge Little Time’s assumptions about speed and sequence.

Narrative Summary#

Little Time tries to match the pace of the fastest flowers, then the slowest, becoming frustrated as everything moves at different rates. The Master encourages noticing rather than chasing.

Emotional Tone#

Frustration, impatience, confusion.

Visual Identity Notes#

  • Rapid vs. slow temporal pulses
  • Petals snapping open vs. drifting
  • Shadows jittering or lagging

Animation Micro‑Beats#

  • Apprentice rushing between flowers
  • Time pulses desynchronizing
  • Cloak flickering with mismatched rhythms

Scene 3 — The Lesson of Dilation#

Purpose#

Reveal that Time is experienced differently depending on attention and perspective.

Narrative Summary#

The Master demonstrates dilation by slowing his movements until the world around him appears to speed up. Little Time observes how perception changes the experience of time.

Emotional Tone#

Awe, conceptual shift, quiet realization.

Visual Identity Notes#

  • Master moving in slow arcs
  • Surroundings accelerating relative to him
  • Soft dilation halo

Animation Micro‑Beats#

  • Master slowing gesture
  • Background motion accelerating
  • Apprentice’s cloak settling into a slower rhythm

Scene 4 — The Rhythm Practice#

Purpose#

Little Time attempts to find a personal rhythm that aligns with the Clock Garden.

Narrative Summary#

Little Time experiments with pacing—too fast, too slow—until discovering a steady rhythm that harmonizes with the garden’s mixed tempos.

Emotional Tone#

Tension → focus → breakthrough.

Visual Identity Notes#

  • Rhythmic pulses in air
  • Flowers syncing briefly
  • Shadows smoothing into consistent motion

Animation Micro‑Beats#

  • Apprentice adjusting pace
  • Temporal pulses stabilizing
  • Garden responding with soft synchronization

Scene 5 — The Moment of Stillness#

Purpose#

Teach that stillness is also part of time—pausing allows clarity.

Narrative Summary#

A sudden temporal swirl disrupts the garden. Little Time freezes—not in fear, but in presence—and the swirl calms. The Master explains that stillness is a form of mastery.

Emotional Tone#

Vulnerability → calm → centeredness.

Visual Identity Notes#

  • Temporal swirl (soft spiral distortion)
  • Cloak fluttering then settling
  • Garden slowing to match apprentice’s stillness

Animation Micro‑Beats#

  • Swirl forming
  • Apprentice becoming still
  • Distortion dissolving

Scene 6 — The Apprentice’s Oath of Time#

Purpose#

Complete the apprentice arc and establish Little Time’s identity.

Narrative Summary#

At twilight, Little Time stands before the central sundial. With hands over heart, the apprentice speaks the Oath of Time: a vow to move at the right pace, neither rushing nor delaying.

Emotional Tone#

Resolve, presence, gentle confidence.

Visual Identity Notes#

  • Twilight gradient (rose → deep violet)
  • Shadows moving in unified rhythm
  • Temporal shimmer around apprentice

Animation Micro‑Beats#

  • Hands over heart
  • Garden synchronizing briefly
  • Final dilation pulse
