Scope and Non‑Goals#
Scope#
Enterprise Structural Awareness applies to enterprise IT environments that rely on layered products, configuration management, policy enforcement, and operational workflows.
Within this scope, the work focuses on:
- Declaring operating context and assumptions
- Identifying regime boundaries and validity limits
- Supporting interpretation of drift and change
- Leveraging existing standards and configuration surfaces
The framework is intentionally lightweight and adaptable, allowing organizations to adopt it incrementally or conceptually without formal integration.
Non‑Goals#
Enterprise Structural Awareness does not:
- Introduce new control planes or orchestration systems
- Optimize performance, availability, or cost
- Replace existing monitoring, automation, or governance tools
- Enforce operational behavior or decision logic
- Require changes to vendor products or APIs
The intent is to augment understanding, not to prescribe action. Structural awareness is treated as an interpretive layer that coexists with existing enterprise systems.
