Terminology Alignment#

Enterprise Structural Awareness aligns its terminology with existing substrate‑based models while adapting language to enterprise IT contexts.

Key terms are used consistently and intentionally:

  • Regime
A declared operating context within which assumptions are considered valid.

  • Operating Envelope
The bounds within which a regime’s assumptions hold.

  • Boundary Semantics
The structural meaning of approaching or crossing an operating envelope boundary, distinct from system failure.

  • Validity
The applicability of assumptions, configurations, or interpretations within a given regime.

  • Drift
Gradual divergence from declared assumptions without immediate failure.

  • Non‑Catastrophic Exit
A transition out of a regime that preserves system operation while acknowledging loss of validity.

These terms are descriptive rather than prescriptive. They are intended to support shared understanding across teams without introducing new operational mandates.

Where possible, terminology is chosen to align with familiar enterprise concepts such as configuration state, lifecycle phase, and policy context.
