Title: Symbolic Annotation and Remix Tagging for Dashboard Nodes
Status: Concept Draft

1. Purpose#
The Collaborator Annotation Layer (CAL) enables contributors to enrich corridor resonance exploration by attaching annotations directly to dashboard nodes. These annotations may be:
- Symbolic Notes — glyphs or icons
- Remix Tags — semantic labels
- Cultural Narratives — dignity‑layer textual overlays
CAL transforms the dashboard into a collaborative, remix‑ready surface, allowing contributors to mark resonance qualities, tag semantic meaning, and narrate cultural interpretations.
2. Annotation Types#
A. Symbolic Notes#
Glyphs or icons layered onto nodes:
- ◇ (alpha)
- ◆ (beta)
- ⬣ (gamma)
- custom cultural glyphs
Used to highlight:
- resonance qualities
- cipher‑density
- corridor stability
- symbolic interpretations
Rendered using the Glyph Library (RFC‑LIB‑0011).
B. Remix Tags#
Short semantic labels such as:
- “cipher‑dense”
- “fluid‑turbulent”
- “stable corridor”
- “gamma‑band”
Tags are:
- searchable
- filterable
- lineage‑inheritable
They integrate with:
- Search & Filter Engine (RFC‑ENG‑0012)
- Registry Indexer (RFC‑REG‑0004)
C. Cultural Narratives#
Free‑form text overlays capturing:
- human interpretation
- ritual notes
- artistic resonance
- symbolic meaning
Stored in the dignity layer of the scroll schema (RFC‑SCHEMA‑0001).
Displayed via optional toggle in the dashboard.
3. Dashboard Integration#
Node Interaction#
Click Node → Annotation Panel Opens
Panel Fields#
- symbolic glyph selector
- remix tag input (autocomplete from Tag Registry)
- narrative text box
Save Action#
Commits annotation to registry with lineage link.
Visual Overlays#
Glyphs#
Rendered directly on node icon.
Tags#
Displayed as hover tooltips.
Narratives#
Accessible via expandable sidebar.
4. Schema Extension#
File:
registry/annotations/annotation_schema.yml
Schema defines:
- annotation type
- contributor ID
- corridor ID
- symbolic glyphs
- remix tags
- narrative text
- lineage linkage
- checksum
5. API Endpoints#
POST /annotations#
Submit new annotation.
GET /annotations/{corridor_id}#
Retrieve annotations for a corridor.
GET /annotations/tags/{tag}#
Search corridors by remix tag.
GET /annotations/contributor/{id}#
View annotations by contributor.
6. Collaboration Features#
Real‑Time Sync#
WebSocket or polling updates dashboard nodes with new annotations.
Contributor Attribution#
Each annotation linked to contributor ID; displayed in tooltips.
Remix Lineage#
Annotations treated as remix events.
Child scrolls inherit annotation metadata.
Dashboard Harmony#
Annotations integrate with:
- UI‑0009 (Dashboard Concept)
- UI‑0017 (Cycle Monitoring Dashboard)
- HUB‑0021 (Collaborative Remixathon Hub)
7. Validator Hooks#
Schema Compliance#
Annotations must conform to annotation_schema.yml.
Checksum#
Each annotation event includes reproducibility checksum.
Lineage Integrity#
Annotations must cite parent/child scroll IDs.
Separation#
Cultural narratives stored in dignity layer, distinct from empirical metrics.
8. Concept Sketch (Textual)#
[Lineage Graph Node: c-003 ⬣]
└─ Symbolic Note: ⬣ (cipher-dense glyph)
└─ Remix Tags: ["stable corridor", "gamma-band"]
└─ Narrative: "This corridor resonates like encrypted chant lines."
└─ Contributor: user42
The Collaborator Annotation Layer makes the dashboard collaborative and remix‑ready: contributors can symbolically mark resonance corridors, tag them for semantic clarity, and narrate their cultural meaning.
