1. Purpose#
The Signature Verification Service (SVS) validates co‑signatures on remix scrolls against contributor registries.
It ensures:
- shared authorship is authentic
- signatures are cryptographically valid
- symbolic signatures match contributor identity
- timestamps align with export windows
- lineage integrity is preserved
- validator‑grade reproducibility
SVS is a core component of the Remixathon validator cluster.
2. Workflow Steps#
SVS follows a four‑stage verification pipeline.
2.1 Signature Extraction#
Parse signatures from:
remix_scroll.signatures
Extract:
- contributor IDs
- signature payloads
- signature types (PGP, ECDSA, symbolic)
- timestamp metadata
2.2 Registry Lookup#
Query the Contributor Registry for:
- public keys
- symbolic signature references
- contributor identity
- contributor active status
Registry lookup ensures signatures map to valid contributors.
2.3 Signature Validation#
SVS performs three checks:
Cryptographic Validation#
- PGP
- ECDSA
- key‑pair match
- payload integrity
Symbolic Validation#
Glyph‑based validator signatures checked against:
- glyph library
- contributor symbolic signature reference
Timestamp Validation#
Signature timestamp must fall within the scroll’s export window.
2.4 Verification Report#
SVS generates a validator‑grade report:
- pass/fail per contributor
- overall authorship status
- checksum
- dignity‑layer badge:
"authorship confirmed"
Report is appended to scroll metadata.
